Dog Friendly Pubs

If you have a dog, you’ll know that they’re just as much a part of the family as anyone else. And that it can be tough to leave them at home alone. We understand that completely, which is why we have dozens of dog-friendly pubs across the country. We want your pet to feel just as welcome as you do, because we know there are few things more exciting to a dog than the sights and smells of the pub.

You can find all of our dog-friendly pubs near you in a matter of seconds. Simply enter your town or postcode into our pub finder and join us at your local Chef & Brewer.

A warm welcome for you and your dog

Our dog-friendly Chef & Brewer pubs are the perfect place for you and your pet to recharge your batteries after a long walk together. No matter if you’re rising early to beat the midday sun, planning your walk around a relaxing lunch with us or strolling round for a drink and a bite in the evening.

Dogs are welcome in all of our pub beer gardens, while lots of our pubs are dog friendly indoors too. Sometimes dogs are only allowed in our pub areas, rather than dining areas, so it could be worth ringing ahead to confirm. Either way, we’ll be more than happy to provide you with a water bowl to quench their thirst, while many of our pubs offer extra goodies like treats and biscuits you can help yourself to.

Tails wagging across the country

With dog-friendly country pubs up and down the country, you’re never far away from a trip to Chef & Brewer with your pet.

Not least if you’re in Barkham, a place that sounds like a match made in heaven for your dog. Head to Ye Olde Leathern Bottel, a pub with a lovely rural feel on the outskirts of Wokingham that’s perfect for a visit after a walk around Fox Hill Woods.

If you’re in the Burton area, don’t miss the Riverside in Branston. Perched on the north bank of the River Trent, this picture-perfect pub offers delightful views across the water towards Drakelow Nature Reserve. Or if you’re in the historic Staffordshire town of Tutbury, head to the Dog & Partridge after a stroll along the River Dove and around the local castle.

Wherever you are in the country, we have a wide selection of pubs set into the beautiful English countryside. You can use our pub finder to locate your nearest one.

If you're visiting one of our dog-friendly pubs, please remember the following:

  • Dogs are welcome in designated dog-friendly pubs at the manager's discretion. We apologise for any inconvenience.
  • Please make sure you and your four-legged friend are considerate of other guests... and other dogs!
  • We love wagging tails and excitable characters, but where possible we'd love for you to help keep barking to a minimum.
  • Our team are usually busy serving food and collecting glasses, so for their safety dogs should always be kept on a lead in both inside and outside seating areas.
  • We like to keep our pubs looking their best, so please keep dogs off sofas, chairs and other furniture.
