And what better way to celebrate National Fish & Chip Day than with a plate of our delightful Hand-Battered Cod & Chips†? There isn't one, and we'll tell you that for free.
This year, the United Kingdom will celebrate National Fish & Chip Day on Friday, the 5th of June 2026.
And isn't Fry-day just the perfect day for such an occasion?
How we're celebrating National Fish & Chips Day
We'll be making sure that we're up nice and early, popping on our Friday best, and making our way down to the closest Chef & Brewer for a fish Friday meal to remember!Once we arrive, we'll grab a table and head straight to the menu to eye up every tasty fish option there is to offer. But, there will only be one dish that takes our fancy on National Fish & Chip Day, and that's our wonderful Hand-Battered Cod & Chips†!
Once we've double-checked the menu, just for good measure, we'll place our order and await the arrival of that plate of crispy, flaky fish & chips...
Our Hand-Battered Cod & Chips†
With chips and tartare sauce (983kcal) and your choice of mushy (89kcal) or garden peas
Let's start with the dish on our fish – it is the star of the show, after all! Our fish is freshly cooked to order, meaning it's served hot, fresh and superbly crispy. We hand-batter our cod for maximum batter coverage and fry it to perfection to create the ultimate crisp and crunch in every bite. Our cod is firm, yet flaky, with a subtle and slightly sweet fish flavour, making it the perfect option for a plate of fish & chips.
And, on the side, we serve up a generous portion of chips, which are crunchy on the outside and fluffy in the middle... And, dare we say it, better than any chips you'll find at the chip shops! Of course, there's plenty of tangy tartare sauce on the side for dipping, and you'll enjoy a choice of garden peas or mushy peas for the full fish & chip shop experience. Oh, it's terrifically delicious!
