Learn all about our Chef & Brewer Macmillan Community Christmas Breakfast
Ah, Christmas; the time of year when we all come together and share a little joy. From full-on family feasts to spontaneous after-work pints celebrating another year gone by, it’s the little moments of love, laughter and togetherness that give it its sparkle.
Christmas also offers an opportunity to step back and consider all that we have to be grateful for, not least our health and well-being. That’s why we’re taking a moment to acknowledge everyone who is currently living with and has lived through cancer. So, we’ve teamed up with our long-term charity partner, Macmillan, to bring a Chef & Brewer Community Christmas Breakfast to the people who need it most
A chance to connect
Here at Chef & Brewer, we believe the smallest acts of kindness make the biggest difference. Talking, listening, sharing stories and lightening the load. Nobody should have to suffer in silence, which is why we want to create a safe, welcoming environment, where those affected by cancer can come together and share their stories this festive season.
Macmillan have invited their network of volunteers, nurses and those with a lived experience of cancer to join us on Friday 5th December at 10:30am at selected Chef & Brewer pubs. We’ll be making space at the table for up to ten special guests. We know this can be a difficult time of year for many, but we can spread a touch of festive sparkle at our pubs.
A breakfast on us
Roaring fireplaces, comfy seating and warm welcomes all round – just a few things our Chef & Brewer Community Christmas Breakfast guests can expect from us. But that’s not all! We’re also throwing in a complimentary breakfast and hot drink for every participant. And with so many delightful options on our breakfast menu, what better way to start the day?
Our Macmillan guests can choose from a delicious range of selected breakfast dishes, including our Granola Bowl, Smashed Avocado on Toast and Smoked Salmon & Eggs on Toast, not forgetting our classic breakfast butty with either Cumberland Sausages, Bacon or Veggie Sausages. After all, it’s the most important meal of the day!
Raising funds with Macmillan
Since 2012, our partnership with Macmillan has helped to raise over £20 million, making an immense difference to the lives of those affected by cancer. This ongoing collaboration involves organising a wide range of fundraising efforts, from coffee mornings to galas. However, no gesture is too small to matter. Take Tub2Pub, for example – each year, after the festive dust has settled, we invite guests to bring in their clean, empty plastic confectionery and cracker tubs to any Chef & Brewer pub. We then recycle them and donate all proceeds to Macmillan. In fact, over the last five years, we’ve raised £23,908, all thanks to empty tubs of Christmas treats.
It goes without saying that our partnership with Macmillan is an ongoing commitment to making a difference in local communities, and no amount of support goes unnoticed or unappreciated.
Rise and shine with Chef & Brewer
If you’re invited to participate in our Chef & Brewer Community Christmas Breakfast, we can’t wait to see you. Visiting us on an alternative day? You can still support Macmillan by heading to a Chef & Brewer pub near you for a marvellous breakfast. That way, you can fill up on a hearty Full Breakfast (or perhaps a Plant-Based Breakfast) and pop your spare pennies in a Macmillan charity collection box when you order at the bar. Or, if you’d like to order on our fabulous app, you can choose to make a small donation via Pennies.
And don’t worry; we know those dark, cold winter mornings make it near impossible to get out of bed. If you’d prefer to stay snuggled up under the covers, why not wait until later in the day and join us for a delicious lunch from just £7.99? Or just call in for a pint, and we’ll pop another log on the fire, just for you.
Reach out and speak up
Remember, nobody should have to feel alone, especially at Christmas. If you or someone you know is currently being affected by cancer, our charity partners at Macmillan are always there to support. And your local Chef & Brewer is the perfect spot for a cosy cuppa and a chat.
