Dog House, Abingdon
The Dog House in Abingdon is one of our much-loved properties. Nestled in the peaceful Oxfordshire countryside, the 19th Century building was originally built as stables and kennels for local landed gentry. Now, it’s enjoying its new life as a lovingly converted rural hotel. Full of character and charm, and in a fantastic location, it’s a great place to stay, eat and celebrate. We’re dog-friendly too, so we’re happy to see you arrive with wagging tails in tow.
MAKE THE MOST OF YOUR STAY
National Trust properties Great Coxwell Barn and White Horse Hill are nearby, while North Hinksey Conduit House, North Leigh Roman Villa, and Abingdon County Hall Museum, all run by English Heritage, are also firm local favourites. The grandeur of Winston Churchill’s birthplace, Blenhiem Palace, is just 20 minutes away. Then there are the historic, dreaming spires and eclectic shops of Oxford, the beautiful woodland and wetlands of Raddley Lakes and Thrupp Lake Trail.
