For our Very British Summer Festival, we wanted to create a whole British Summer experience, from the flavours, to the tastes, right through to the ingredients. Our chefs have been working hard to create a menu that we're confident you'll love and summarises a typical British Summer. With plenty of old favourites in it to choose from, as well as seasonal delights, with interesting twists: Get set for a culinary adventure.
Hand-raised Cornish Picnic Pork Pie and Salad
What typical British summer garden party would be complete without the old favourite Pork Pie? Our chefs have sourced a seriously tasty hand raised Cornish pork pie. Partnered with caramelised red onion chutney, lamb’s lettuce, sweet pear, candied walnuts and crumbled Shropshire blue cheese its a culinary delight. Did you know: To make walnuts super sweet with a really good crunch they are soaked in water and rolled in sugar - divine.
Scottish Mussels and Fries
Sourced from the West and North Scotland coastlines, our Scottish mussels really are a little taste of British summer. Rope grown, the mussels are sourced in a sustainable way to ensure minimum impact on the environment without compromising on the great natural flavours of the mussels. Served in a creamy white wine sauce topped with samphire and served with fries, garlic & rosemary mayo and a lemon wedge we're confident you'll love this summer dish. Did you know: Samphire is a very rich source of calcium and is an excellent complimentary flavour and texture to the mussels - double winner!
Hog Roast Burger
Reminiscent of long hot summer days, the classic Hog Roast Burger is a mouth-wateringly good treat. Topped with pulled pork, stuffing, melted smoked cheese, crumbled crackling, apple sauce with mayo and watercress, served with apple sauce it's got garden party written all over it!
Chef’s Coronation chicken
Get ready for our version of a classic! Marinated to infuse the flavours in the curry sauce, this is a dish best served whilst enjoying the sunshine. Inspired from the great British classic it goes excellently with a glass or two of white wine. Enjoy half a fresh roasted chicken, marinated in curry sauce and topped with toasted flaked almonds and fresh coriander. Served with fries, dressed mixed salad, mango salsa, garlic & coriander glazed corn on the cob and a lemon wedge - It is a visual and sensory treat!
What summer would be complete without delicious sweet treats?! Our very British summer festival has some 'would be rude to say no to' puddings.
Classics such as the Eton Mess simply had to make an appearance. The traditional English dessert is a summer essential, the indulgent pudding is full of whipped double cream tossed with crushed meringue, raspberry coulis, fresh strawberries and raspberries. Did you know: Eton Mess was first mentioned in print in 1893 and it is commonly believed to originate from Eton College and is served at the annual cricket match against the pupils of Harrow School.
A delightful twist on a classic our new Lemon Drizzle Cake Infused With Earl Grey is set to be a summer favourite. Paired with white chocolate mousse, strawberries, raspberries and toasted flaked almonds it is decadent and delicious.
To round up our summer festival puddings our chefs have created a Tipsy Summer Trifle: Undoubtedly a British favourite, a Summer Cup liqueur jelly with strawberries & raspberries, topped with custard, whipped double cream and crumbled Cadbury Flake® - We can't wait for you to tuck into this beauty!
