Winters walks are the perfect way to enjoy festive holiday socialising, whilst either working up an appetite or walking off some delicious festive over-indulgence. So gather your friends and family, wrap up warm and follow our handy tips to make the most of what the Great British countryside has to offer!
- Layers are key for a great winters walk, base layers are a great way to ensure you keep warm on your winters walk. It’s always better to have and not need than get cold! Three is our magic number for ultimate cosiness without being too hot.
- Don’t forget to pay extra special attention to the areas most likely to feel the chill. Keep fingers, toes and heads protected, gloves, a beanie hat and extra thick walking socks should do the job perfectly!
- Keep warm once you stop. Whether it be to chat with your friends and family or check the map for directions. Taking a flask with a hot drink to enjoy whilst you’re out on your winters walk is a great idea.
- Refuel! Walking is a great way to work up an appetite and we have just the dishes to help you fill back up again.
