Visit The Park

An often over looked activity, the park is a truly great place to spend time together. Packed full of opportunities to run off additional energy, we think the humble park should become your go-to place to entertain the kids this summer holiday: The bonus? It’s Free!

Many of our favourite childhood memories started in our local parks, from kite flying to climbing trees, the park is high on our list of nostalgic memories. Get involved with Love Parks Week, it’s an initiative designed to encourage you to go out and enjoy your local park and green space: It’s a great cause! Find out more about Love Parks Week.

Discover The Great Outdoors

Head out on your own adventure and discover what nature has in store! Grab your comfy shoes for the whole tribe and head out into the great outdoors for a long summers walk. Enjoy the sunshine and find your sense of discovery.

Wander off the beaten track and explore your surroundings, you’ll be surprised at what adventures are awaiting you; and the kids are sure to love it! For little imaginations that work at 100mph you’’ll inspire them with big ideas from trails of monsters and fairies to elusive animals that are just waiting to be discovered behind every bend: Walking has never been so much fun!

Many of our pubs are located near some wonderful walks and excellent cycle routes. The National Trust have some excellent walking recommendations for little legs. Find Out More Here.

Get creative in the garden and encourage your little munchkins to grow their own this summer. Watching the plants shoot up and bloom will be nearly as satisfying as watching their little faces light up at their pride and excitement of watching their plants grow! Sunflowers are always a huge success for the budding little gardener.

When the planting and watering is finished, grab some sheets, old curtains and start building your own dens.

Top Tip: A clothes horse makes for an excellent foundation of a garden den!
