Burscough resident wins cracking Christmas party

A Burscough resident had a cracker of a Christmas thanks to her local pub the Stanley Gate.

For Corinne Drury of Moss Road, was cherry picked at random from over 100 entries following a competition to win a Christmas party for up to 10 guests at the Ormskirk Road pub which is part of the Chef & Brewer group of pubs.

Corinne was given full VIP treatment and her family and friends enjoyed a three course Christmas meal with all the trimmings. She said: “This is the first competition I have ever entered and I can’t believe I’ve won!

“A friend who is a regular at the pub suggested I enter and I’m so glad I did. The Stanley Gate team were so welcoming and the atmosphere was fantastic, we will definitely be coming back!”

The pub recently received a £50,000 refurbishment and has brought on board new general managers Ken and Vicky Chalmers.

Ken said: “The Stanley Gate is great local pub and the team and I are really keen to build relations with the community that we serve and remind people that this is once again a fantastic place to come and socialise with friends and family.”
