Come down on Sunday 16th June for an extra special Father's Day meal and enjoy 2 courses for £14 or 3 courses for £17 from our specially selected and prepared dishes shown below. Our Father's Day menu choice includes mouth-watering dishes such as lightly spiced sweet chilli prawns, 8oz Sirloin steak and our indulgent chocolate & caramel torte.

      • MRS KIRKHAM'S CHEESE ON TOAST

        Award-winning Lancashire cheese melted on toast with crispy pancetta. Served with a rocket salad and drizzled with a Worcestershire sauce dressing.

      • CHICKEN SATAY

        Tender chicken breast in a peanut & chilli marinade. Served with an Asian-style salad and a satay dip.

      • DUCK & PORT PATE

        Duck & port pâté served with toasted bloomer bread and a beer chutney.

      • SWEET CHILLI PRAWNS†

        A selection of lightly-spiced, breaded and filo-wrapped king prawns with a sweet chilli dipping sauce.

      • GARLIC MUSHROOM & STILTON BRUSCHETTA (v)

        Garlic mushroom bruschetta with crumbled Stilton, finished with semi dried tomatoes and rocket.

      • FRENCH ONION SOUP (v)

        French Onion Soup finished with Italian-style hard cheese, croutons and parsley.

      • THE ULTIMATE COD & CHIPS†

        A hearty portion of hand-battered cod served with chips, bread and butter, mushy peas, tartare sauce and a wedge of lemon.

      • 8oz SIRLOIN

        35-day matured 8oz sirloin steak cooked to your liking and served with chips, grilled tomato and a field mushroom. For a lighter choice, swap your chips for a crisp salad

      • SMOKED HADDOCK MORNAY†

        Natural smoked haddock on a bed of wilted spinach and mash, topped with a poached free-range egg and glazed with a mature Cheddar cheese.

      • GOURMET RUMP STEAK BURGER

        Succulent steak burger topped with melted mature Cheddar, bacon, a field mushroom and a free-range egg. Served with a classic burger sauce.

      • ASPARAGUS, BRIE & BEETROOT SALAD (v)

        A salad of asparagus, Croxton Manor brie and beetroot, served with walnut halves and a crushed raspberry dressing.

      • VENISON PIE

        Wild Scottish venison, shallots and bacon in a woodland mushroom sauce, encased in a herb suet pastry with a shortcrust lid. Served with garlic roasted new potatoes, seasonal vegetables and a rich red wine sauce.

        A sweet pastry infused with nutmeg, cinnamon and currants filled with a clotted cream egg custard. Served with fresh strawberries and whipped double cream

      • About Fathers Day

        • Father’s Day is a widely celebrated occasion to acknowledge fathers and for many, it’s a great time to get the family together and treat Dad to something special.

          How did Father’s Day begin

          Historically in Catholic society, Father’s Day was celebrated on 19th March, which is St. Joseph’s Day.

          However, the more popularly recognised event that most of us celebrate today is said to have originated with Mrs Bruce John Dodd of Spokane, Washington, who wanted to celebrate her outstanding father, a veteran of the Civil War who had singlehandedly raised six children.

          She approached her minister with the idea and the rest, as they say, is history. It was President Nixon who really turned the event into a global phenomenon in 1972, when he established a permanent national observance of Father’s Day on the third Sunday in June.

          And so Father’s Day was born and it’s still going strong today!
